Hourly PM2.5 data

Air Quality Monitoring - 2015 (grouped by pollutant)

Created 05/05/2025

Updated 05/05/2025

Period of reporting: 1 January to December 2015

Monitoring sites: Cannon Hill, Luscombe, Lytton, Rocklea, South Brisbane, Springwood, Woolloongabba, Wynnum North, Wynnum West (South East Queensland); Jondaryan (Jondaryan); Boat Creek, Boyne Island, Clinton, South Gladstone, Targinie (Gladstone region)

Measurement units: micrograms per cubic metre (ug/m^3)

Measurement technique (Springwood): Tapered Element Oscillating Balance (TEOM) Model 1400AB operated in accordance with AS 3580.9.8

  • Measurement values do not compensate for loss of semi-volatile components from the collected particulate matter.
  • Reported values are unadjusted instrument output values as per the requirements of the Air NEPM Technical Paper on Monitoring for Particles as PM2.5.
  • Negative hourly PM2.5 concentrations less than -0.5 µg/m^3 are removed and concentrations between -0.5 µg/m^3 and 0.0 µg/m^3 are set to 0.0 µg/m^3.

Measurement technique (Lytton, Wynnum North, Wynnum West): Dichotomous Tapered Element Oscillating Balance (TEOM) Model 1405-D operated in accordance with AS/NZS 3580.9.13 (excluding FDMS requirements)

  • Measurement values do not compensate for loss of semi-volatile components from the collected particulate matter.
  • Reported concentrations are uncorrected instrument output values.
  • Negative hourly PM2.5 concentrations down to -5 µg/m^3 resulting from instrument noise at low particle concentrations are reported.

Measurement technique (Cannon Hill, Luscombe, Rocklea, South Brisbane, Woolloongabba, Jondaryan, Boat Creek, Boyne Island, Clinton, South Gladstone, Targinie): Dichotomous Tapered Element Oscillating Balance (TEOM) Model 1405-DF fitted with Filter Dynamics Measurement System (FDMS) operated in accordance with AS/NZS 3580.9.13

  • The FDMS system compensates for the loss of semi-volatile components from the collected particulate matter.
  • Reported concentrations are uncorrected instrument output values.
  • The reported PM2.5 concentrations are calculated from running 1-hour average concentrations updated at six minute intervals.
  • Negative hourly PM2.5 concentrations down to -5 µg/m^3 resulting from instrument noise at low particle concentrations are reported.
