Christie Downs (Gaseous data) – 2024

This data set contains validated gaseous pollution data for the year 2024 for the Southern Adelaide region in monthly files. Data was collected as 1 hour averages. Information provided is Ozone values expressed in parts per million (ppm), Nitrogen oxides values expressed in parts per million (ppm). Time expressed as Time Ending Averages and in Australian Central Standard Time (ACST).

Negative values occur from time to time and are a result of the extremely low concentration levels and the noise of the instrument.

Sampling methods, standards and uncertainties:

Ozone (O3) Ultraviolet Absorbance (UVA), AS3580.6.1, U95= ±0.005 ppm @ 0.100 ppm.

Nitrogen oxides (NO, NO2, NOx) Chemiluminescence, AS 3580.5.1, U95= ±0.050 ppm @ 0.400 ppm.

Field labels: O3 UVA ppm – Ozone, NO Chemiluminescence ppm – Nitric oxide, NO2 calc Chemiluminescence ppm – Nitrogen dioxide calculated from NOx-NO, NOx Chemiluminescence ppm – Nitrogen oxides, SO2 UVF ppm – Sulfur dioxide, CO GPC ppm – Carbon monoxide.

For comparison to National Environment Protection (Ambient Air Quality) Measure (NEPM) standards, any average calculated from this data is only valid if it is based on at least 75% of the expected samples in the averaging period. This applies to all averaging periods. Further information on data availability and computing averages can be found in the National Environment Protection (Ambient Air Quality) Measure Technical paper No. 5 – Data Collection and Handling.
