Gov Hack 2018
This dataset includes 3 time periods (2006, 2011 and 2016) of individual tax returns, and the counts of ATO help centre’s by Postcode. There is also a selection of corresponding ABS census variables and SIEFA indexes for the same time periods, by postcode. It can be used by itself for trend analysis, or in conjunction with other datasets at the national, state or postcode level. The combination of ATO and ABS data provides two independent snapshots of the Australian population. The data is not perfect, to represent true life datasets, and any errors, omissions or inconsistencies are part of the challenge of GovHack.
