QLD DSITIA Cooper subregion, Bulloo Local Government Area (LGA) Species List

Abstract

This dataset was supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by the Queensland Department of Science, Information Technology, Innovation and the Arts (DSITIA and is presented here as originally supplied. Metadata was not provided and has been compiled by the Bioregional Assessment Programme based on the known details at the time of acquisition.)

This dataset contains a list of species (for the Bulloo Local Government Area (LGA) within the Cooper subregion) downloaded from the Queensland Department of Science, Information Technology, Innovation and the Arts (DSITIA), Wildlife online application.

Wildlife Online accesses data from the WildNet database. This database contains records of wildlife sightings and listings of plants (including fungi and protists), mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles, freshwater fish, sharks and rays, butterflies and other priority invertebrates in Queensland.

The wildlife lists are based on collated species lists and wildlife records (within 2000 metres or less) from Queensland Government departments and external organisations. The data sources include:

specimen collections

research and monitoring programs

inventory programs including extension activities

literature records

wildlife permit returns

community wildlife recording programs.
