The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) monitors South Australian waterways (lakes, creeks and rivers, marine) in order to assess their condition and provide information that can be used to guide management decisions. Monitoring data are used to produce aquatic ecosystem condition reports (AECRs) every year. There are reports available for creeks and lakes, and the nearshore marine waters. Further information is available on the EPA website; http://www.epa.sa.gov.au/data_and_publications/water_quality_monitoring/aquatic_ecosystem_monitoring_evaluation_and_reporting
