Abstract
The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme. This dataset was derived from multiple datasets. You can find a link to the parent datasets in the Lineage Field in this metadata statement. The History Field in this metadata statement describes how this dataset was derived.
This dataset contains the South Australia Economic asset elements storred in the file 'SA_EconomicElemenets_v1_20141201.csv'.
Each groundwater works and associated licence is considered an element in the asset database. The element list was constructed from the SA Groundwater Licence Extract (as per lineage).
The Water Resource Assessment team of the Bureau of Meteorology provided the location of the licence, linked bore IDs and the purpose of the water extraction.
The 'Class' of asset was added to the Groundwater licence extract which is an aggregate of the purpose field.
This dataset has not been clipped to the PAE and includes all licences in SA. It has been confirmed by SA that there are no surface water licences in the north of the State in the bioregions of Arkaringa, Pedirka and Cooper.
Dataset History
The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme. This dataset was derived from multiple datasets. You can find a link to the parent datasets in the Lineage Field in this metadata statement. The History Field in this metadata statement describes how this dataset was derived.
The Bureau of Meteorology Water Resource Assessment team had been provided by SA DEWNR with the location, linked bore IDs and bore depths. This information, linked to the licence extract (GUID: ce98b07d-1aea-44f6-8900-482ee49565b0) was sufficient to use for the BA elements list for Assets & Receptors.
The 'Class' field was added to the SA groundwater extract which is an aggregate of the purpose field.
Any purpose that was originally listed as "domestic" or "stock" only was classed as a basic water right.
Any purpose that was originally listed as an extractive use was classed as a water access right. This includes irrigation, mining, farming, etc.
Monitoring bores are classed as 'NA' as they do not contain an extractive purpose.
