SandMap Pty Ltd has been contracted by Moreton Bay Regional Council to undertake investigation surveys into multiple sites located close offshore from the Redcliffe Peninsula, QLD. These surveys will inform coastal modelling currently being undertaken as part of coastal design projects and may also be used to set-out coastal protection structures such as groyne extensions and seawalls encroaching below the low tide mark. The survey requirements were to provide enough coverage within marked survey extents and high priority areas for each site to capture key bed features and the toe of any coastal structures up to -0.5m AHD. Additionally, the fringes of reefs within the marked areas were to be captured. To supplement this data, a number of survey profiles were specified for capture. The survey to be carried out to Class D requirements. This site, Woody Point, refers to a 2.2km x 0.6km long section of coastline on the southern tip of the Redcliffe Peninsula and incorporates the Woody Point jetty. The survey area as identified through the specifications, including profiles, is contained within an area of 1.9km by 1.6km.
