Kolback Environmental Services Limited (KES) proposes to develop a clay/shale quarry on Lot 3 Adams Road Luddenham in Sydney's south west. As part of this development the quarry void will be rehabilitated by filling with non-putrescible waste. The final landform will be progressively mounded to shed rainwater and will I be suitable for stock grazing, vegetated green belt, or selected light industry and storage purposes. The landfill would be operated by Camide Pty Limited (Camide), a wholly owned subsidiary of KES. The Company has agreed to purchase the quarry site subject to certain conditions and has obtained approval from the current property owners, Messrs L.W., L.W. and G.R. Harpley, to submit the development application. This environmental impact statement describes the landfill proposal and considers its environmental impact. A detailed description of proposed rehabilitation and environmental protection measures is given. The environmental consequences of proceeding are assessed with important findings summarised.
