2020–21 SLATS Report

Created 05/05/2025

Updated 05/05/2025

The Statewide Landcover and Trees Study (SLATS) monitors woody vegetation extent, and annual changes to that extent due to clearing and regrowth using Sentinel-2 satellite imagery as its primary monitoring tool. This datatset is for the 2020–21 SLATS reporting period. The 2020–21 SLATS reporting period is nominally from August 2020 to August 2021. This dataset includes data summaries of woody vegetation change data associated with the 2020–21 SLATS Report as well as woody vegetation change data summaries for a selection of administrative and natural resource management regions and divisions. The 2020–21 report and data are directly comparable with the 2018–19 report and 2019–20 report. However they are not comparable with SLATS reports up to and including 2017–18 due to a change in methodology. Note that regrowth was not reported in 2018–19—regrowth figures for that period are displayed as zero in the relevant data summaries.
