Updated 05/05/2025

This data is EPA's beach bacterial sampling results since December 2013. During summer (1 December - Labour Day) EPA monitors bacterial water quality at 36 Port Phillip Bay beaches. Samples are tested for enterococci, a bacteria found in faeces. Enterococci is recognised as the best indicator in measuring faecal contamination of marine recreational waters.
