Created 04/05/2025

Updated 04/05/2025

Location of playgrounds that are publicly managed by the ACT Government. Includes information about playground type (local, neighbourhood, central community, district), division name, location description, upgrade year, parking, usage, shade, list of features (eg climber, cubby, swing etc) and total structures. These assets are managed by City Presentation, Transport Canberra and City Services Directorate (TCCS) and Parks and Conservation Service, Environment and Planning Directorate (EPD). Privately managed playgrounds and playgrounds managed by other ACT Government Directorates are not included. Polygons in the Playarea dataset are more precisely recorded (defined by the softfall boundaries) than those in the Playground dataset. If a less precise but smaller dataset is suitable please refer to the Playground dataset. These assets are captured and maintained in the TCCS asset database through the works as executed (WAE) handover process or field audits.
