Australia, Register of the National Estate (RNE) - Spatial Database (RNESDB)

These data provide locational and attribute information for places on the Register of the National Estate (RNE) as determined by the Australian Government Department of the Environment and Energy, Heritage Divison. RNE polygons with attribute information describing the place name, class (indigenous, natural, historic), 'Place_ID' (a unique identifier used to link to the textual, spatial and photographic databases) and status. Places on the 'Interim Register of the National Estate' are included in these data. These are attributed as "Interim" in the status field. The "Identified" status indicates that a place has been accepted onto the register, but the assessment was performed by state government bodies.

Places subject to confidentiality agreements (or otherwise subject to s24c of the Australian Heritage Commission Act 1975) are not included in these data.

Spatial data for places (mostly historic) in cities, is currently being derived using urban cadastral data.
