Cropping - sugarcane bagasse (estimated available)
This data describes estimated available sugarcane bagasse produced as dry tonnes per year published by local government area (LGA).
Estimated available is defined as biomass not required for primary production processes.
Calculated from cane production figures (t/ha green) published annually for each Mill Supply Area (MSA) by the sugar cane industry association, Canegrowers, using industry standard equation (Kent 2010) with parameter values (Hobson et al 2006) and steam on cane (SOC) of 45% (Lavarack et al 2005). Values for each MSA are then aggregated to a LGA proportional to the sugarcane land use footprint.
