Newcastle Cycleways Movement Inc (NCM) is a band of people committed to improving conditions for cycling in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. NCM conducts bicycle counts in Lake Macquarie and has granted Lake Macquarie City Council permission to republish as open data. Visit http://newcastlecycleways.org.au for more information.

Methodology notes: For counts March 2011 to October 2014, 2 hour counts were conducted between 7am and 9am. October 2013 count for site ‘Tramway Track [NE] / Entrance to TAFE [E] / Frederick Street [S]’ was or 1 hour only. For August 2016, a 1 hour count was conducted between 7.30am and 8.30am. August 2016 count was a cold dry morning after a week of rain.
