Created 05/05/2025

Updated 05/05/2025

The Burden of Disease study uses methods developed originally for the Global Burden of Disease study refined and adapted to the Victorian context. It provides a comprehensive assessment of the amount of ill health in Victoria, Australia, measured by the prevalent cases. Prevalent cases are those people who at any point in time (during the year 2001) had the condition regardless of when it first affected the individual. The Burden of Disease 'data' are modelled estimates,  using methods developed originally for the Global Burden of Disease study but refined and adapted to the Victorian context
