Abstract

This dataset and its metadata statement were supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and are presented here as originally supplied.

Representation of a fully connected and directed stream network in raster format.

Purpose

The stream network and catchment boundaries contained within the database form foundation elements of the Bureau of Meteorologyâs Australian Hydrological Geofabric, the spatial framework that underpins the Australian Water Resources Information System (AWRIS).

Dataset History

It is built upon the representation of surface drainage patterns provided by the GEODATA national 9 second Digital Elevation Model (DEM) Version 3 (ANU Fenner School of Environment and Society and Geoscience Australia, 2008).
