CCA-larval settlement; 15 x 15 species

Created 12/03/2025

Updated 12/03/2025

This research investigated the intimate associations between crustose coralline algae (CCA) and coral larvae for settlement, it is important to identify species-specific pairing between the CCA-coral counterparts that could be used to optimise settlement for the production of seeding units for reef restoration application. Data was collected at SeaSim using corals and CCA that were collected from the Davies Reef, the Palm Island group and Magnetic Island. Live chip assays of 15 CCA species against 15 coral species were performed to assess for settlement behaviours. Data was analysed using both univariate and multivariate approaches. Parameters for this study: Larval settlement to crustose coralline algae
