GIPPSLAND LAKES SHORE HAZARD EXTENT

Created 05/05/2025

Updated 05/05/2025

The Gippsland Lakes Local Coastal Hazard Assessment (LCHA) provides information on the extent of coastal hazards and their physical impacts for the Gippsland Lakes coastal environment. The lakes shoreline erosion hazard extent maps the potential change in shoreline under 0.8m of sea level rise. The change in typical shoreline position due to increased inundation was considered significantly larger than the change in shoreline position due to shoreline erosion. Details of the assumptions made in the derivation of this information can be found in project reports on the Our Coast website: http://www.ourcoast.org.au/cb_pages/resources.php. Users of this information should read these project reports to understand the limitations of the data.
