Climate Innovation Hub Product 1 - Application-Ready quantile-scaled CMIP5 climate model projections for Australia

Created 20/10/2024

Updated 20/10/2024

The data collection consists of projections for precipitation, relative humidity, daily maximum temperature, daily minimum temperature and downwards surface solar radiation on a daily temporal resolution across Australia for most of the 21st century (2016-2085) from 8 CMIP5 models. These projections have been downscaled through a 'quantile-quantile' scaling process to a resolution of approx. 5 km. This data collection was produced to produce application-ready climate projections where changes in extreme conditions are allowed to differ from changes in mean conditions. This is achieved through the use of the quantile-quantile scaling approach, as opposed to a delta scaling approach often used for application-ready projections.
