Welcome to the ACT Canopy Cover Map 2020The following interactive map shows Canberra's tree canopy cover in 2020. Canberra's total 2020 tree canopy cover is estimated at 22.5%. The map uses LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) data captured by Aerometrex and the ACT Government (available here). This canopy cover data product is available in the ACT Government's Open Data Geospatial Catalogue (available here).Canopy coverage percentage is determined by the coverage of vegetation above 3m as detected by LiDAR to a 1m resolution (canopy polygons available here), divided by the area of a feature of interest such as a block, division or road polygon. The total tree canopy cover estimate for Canberra is based on the footprint of all urban divisions (suburbs).
