ABS - Small Area Demolition Approvals (LGA) Q3 2016 - Q2 2017

Created 04/05/2025

Updated 04/05/2025

This dataset presents preliminary data on the number of dwellings approved for demolition in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland from the September 2016 quarter to the June 2017 quarter, by Local Government Areas (LGA) 2016 boundaries. The data has been sourced from the existing Building Approvals collection, and therefore only includes dwellings which have been approved to be fully demolished by a local council or approving authority. The data does not represent actual demolitions taking place (i.e. it does not account for demolitions that were approved but did not go ahead, or for the time lag between approval and actual demolition). For more information please visit the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Explanatory Notes. The data has been sourced from the October 2020 release. AURIN has spatially enabled the original data from the ABS and has reshaped the data to represent building types along columns instead of rows.
