Abstract

This dataset is a source dataset crated by the Bioregional Assessment Programme without the use of source datasets.

The master list contains details of coal mines and deposits in Sydney Basin bioregion. It lists 14 operating mines, 4 mines in care and maintenance, 13 historic mines and 6 undeveloped deposits. Tables lists mine name, operator, latitude and longitude, type of coal, total coal resources, opencut or underground mine, expansion plans and EIS status, start and end of mining years, type of mining and annual production.

Purpose

This list is designed as basis for creating maps and providing summary information for Bioregional Assessment report writing.

Dataset History

The resource was created by researching mine information from multiple existing documents and websites. List was compiled during 2015 and early 2016.
