Daily high resolution vapour pressure grids. The grids show the vapour pressure values across Australia, in the form of two-dimensional array data. These grids are based on daily vapour pressure observation data. Daily grid data files are from 1971 onwards. At about 3:30 am each day, the 9 am and 3 pm vapour pressure values for the previous day are analysed, using dewpoint temperature data with very limited quality control.

Dewpoint temperatures are measured directly at about 750 sites across the country and these station data are then analysed onto 0.25x0.25 and 0.05x0.05 degree grids. See the DATA QUALITY section of this record, for more details.
