South Australian Wetlands - Groundwater Dependent Ecosystems (GDE) Classification

Created 23/03/2016

Updated 20/11/2019

Abstract

This dataset and its metadata statement were supplied to the Bioregional Assessment Programme by a third party and are presented here as originally supplied.

A Preliminary Risk Assessment of Water Dependent Ecosystems (WDEs) in South Australia. The project includes compilation of existing data on the location of WDEs, and an assessment of the likelihood of groundwater dependency, and risk from existing groundwater resource development.

Purpose

Purpose: To display SA Wetlands GDE Classification

Use: Wetlands study, Hydrogeological investigations, Risk Assessment, Policy and Development Application Assessments.

Use Limitation: Confidence ratings of all fields have been generated (see Attribute Information). These rating should be viewed in conjunction with corresponding data. Attributes of Low confidence indicate that further research/investigation is required to confirm attribution.

Dataset History

The wetlands layer Landscape_Wetlands (current as of March 2010) managed by DENR is the spatial polygon layer. A number of fields were generated for this layer within this project. Attribute data for new fields is detailed within this metadata. Refer to DENR for metadata for Landscape_Wetlands polygon layer.
