Cotton Fibre and Stem Transcriptome Data - Coker 315-C11 developmental series

Created 20/10/2024

Updated 12/03/2025

Transcriptome data of cotton (Gossypium hirsutum Coker 315-C11) fibre across three key developmental stages - primary, transition, and secondary cell wall stages, and also of stem fibres/xylem and pith. The original paper outlining this work and findings are fully described in https://bmcgenomics.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12864-017-3902-4 "Tissue and cell-specific transcriptomes in cotton reveal the subtleties of gene regulation underlying the diversity of plant secondary cell walls" and any use of this data should cite this work.

The authors gratefully acknowledge that this work was funded by Cotton Breeding Australia, a joint venture between CSIRO and Cotton Seed Distributors (Project No. CBA19). It was also funded by CSIRO’s Office of the Chief Executive (OCE) Postdoctoral Fellowship Program.
