The data contains primary geological data, namely boundary types separating rock units. Other geological features (e.g. fault or dyke) are included where the feature forms a boundary to rock units. This layer has been superseded by the Seamless Geology layers for Faults - SG_SHEAR_DISPLACE_STRUC_50K Contacts - SG_GEOL_UNIT_CONTACT_50K The dataset is part of the geological mapping dataset, which includes datasets representing geological rock units and boundaries, structural lines, miscellaneous lines and points, miscellaneous polygons, metamorphism, and placer deposits. The data have been collected by the Geological Survey of Victoria. Data have typically been captured in projects covering 1:100,000 mapsheets, and have typically been recorded in the field by hand at 1:25,000 then prepared for hard copy printing at 1:50,000.
