Geomagnetic report Davis and Casey, 1993

The geomagnetic program at Davis and Casey is conducted in association with the Auroral and Space Physics (ASP) section of the Australian Antarctic Division. The Antarctic Division purchased, installed and operate EDA FM 100 fluxgate magnetometers at both stations to assist upper atmospheric physics investigations. The variometers are not calibrated to observatory standard. However using the digital variation data in association with absolute observations provides much better estimates of monthly field values than relying on absolute observations alone.
