IMOS SOOP Sea Surface Temperature data collected on the Merchant Vessel Stadacona

Created 13/03/2025

Updated 13/03/2025

This dataset contains Sea Surface Temperature (SST) underway observations collected on trips of a merchant vessel Stadacona (callsign C6FS9). Bulk SST is measured by SBE48 hull contact sensor. The sensor is installed in the engine compartment and its depth is varied from 2 to 7 meters (depending on loading of vessel). SST data (along with meteorological data from ship AWS) are instantaneous, collected every 3 hours. The data are quality controlled by the Bureau of Meteorology. The daily data files are available from eMII shortly after 0000 UTC.
