'Ships of Opportunity' (SOOP) is a facility of the Australian 'Integrated Marine Observing System' (IMOS) project. This data set was collected by the SOOP sub-facility 'Sensors on Tropical Research Vessels' aboard the RV Solander Trip 5457.

Instrumentation was deployed for measuring Seawater Intake Temperature at 1.9m on trip 5457 from 09 Feb 2012 through to 17 Feb 2012, and the installation was located at/on RV Solander. Sensor deployed was a SBE 38 remote temperature sensor manufactured by Sea-Bird Electronics, Inc., model SBE 38.

Instrumentation was deployed for measuring Salinity at 1.9m on trip 5457 from 09 Feb 2012 through to 17 Feb 2012, and the installation was located at/on RV Solander. Sensor deployed was a SBE 21 conductivity cell manufactured by Sea-Bird Electronics, Inc., model SBE 21.

Instrumentation was deployed for measuring Turbidity at 1.9m on trip 5457 from 09 Feb 2012 through to 17 Feb 2012, and the installation was located at/on RV Solander. Sensor deployed was a Wet Labs FLNTU-RT Optical sensor (Turbidity and Fluorescence) manufactured by Wetlabs, model FLNTU-RT.

Instrumentation was deployed for measuring Fluorescence at 1.9m on trip 5457 from 09 Feb 2012 through to 17 Feb 2012, and the installation was located at/on RV Solander. Sensor deployed was a Wet Labs FLNTU-RT Optical sensor (Turbidity and Fluorescence) manufactured by Wetlabs, model FLNTU-RT.
