IMOS SOOP-XBT Upper Ocean Thermal Data collected on the line PX35 (Melbourne - Dunedin)

Created 13/03/2025

Updated 13/03/2025

This dataset contains temperature data obtained from XBTs (expendable bathythermographs) deployed by vessels during different cruises between Melbourne (Australia) and Dunedin (New Zealand). Expendable Bathythermographs (XBTs) have been used for many years by oceanographers to measure the temperature of the upper ocean. These instruments are simple devices which are designed to be deployed from moving vessels, enabling broad scale coverage of the world's oceans.
