IN2020_V01 - Multichannel Seismic Reflection (MCS) dataset

Created 13/03/2025

Updated 13/03/2025

The Multichannel Seismic Reflection (MCS) dataset has been collected during RV Investigator voyage IN2020_V01 (Development of William's Ridge, Kerguelen Plateau: tectonics, hotspot magmatism, microcontinents, and Australia's Extended Continental Shelf). The geophysical dataset images the upper crustal structure of William's Ridge (Profiles 0001-0004) and Broken Ridge (Profiles 0005-0009). The SEG-Y format is a standard file format for storing geophysical data like multichannel/single channel seismic reflection profiles. An open source software commonly used for the visualization of the SEG-Y file is SeiSee (https://seisee.software.informer.com/). The vertical scale is displayed in Two-Way Travel Time (TWT - seconds/milliseconds) The spatial coordinates are UTM (Easting - Northing) - Common Depth Point (CDP)
