Created 13/01/2025

Updated 01/04/2025

The Department of Primary Industry and Regional Development - Agriculture and Food conducted the four-year La Grange project, as part of the Regional Economic Development Water Opportunities (REDWO) project, funded by Royalties for Regions. The land and water assessment component of the project was conducted to identify suitable land for irrigated agriculture. The Optimised Areas is the product of several datasets created by the project showing the preferred areas for irrigated agriculture development based on the soil and water components. The Optimized Areas is a guide only and on ground assessments may vary. It aims to identify large suitable areas and is limited to the soil and water assessment only. Tenure, heritage, environmental or other constraints have not been considered.
