Bathymetry is the study of ocean depths, typically from quality controlled depth soundings. Bathymetric data is XYZ values, denoting latitude, longitude and depth measurements. Geoscience Australia is the co-custodian of Australians bathymetry data, along with the Royal Australian Navy - Australian Hydrographic Survey. This data includes: historical point data, ship trackline, multibeam data, controlled source seismic, satellite and airborne derived data.
