Mass movement (landslip) occurs on sloping ground where large slabs of the ground surface slide downhill. Mapping shows the extent of, or potential for, landslip, while detailed proportion data are supplied for calculating total land areas affected by, or with potential for, mass movement (spatial data statistics).
