Mental Health average length of stay (days)
The average length of stay (days) for an acute admitted patient mental health patient by financial year. Average length of stay represents the tension between the acuity of an individual’s illness, the recovery times for different mental illnesses and the efficacy of treatment within the ward. Capacity for earlier discharge is influenced by surrounding supports from non-admitted community based services.
