The Australian Government’s $380 million Mobile Black Spot Program will deliver improved mobile coverage to regional and remote Australia. Round 1 of the Program is delivering 499 new mobile base stations around Australia – 429 Telstra and 70 Vodafone base stations. The first base stations under Round 1 of the Program began rolling out in 2015. The rollout sequence is determined by Telstra and Vodafone based on various factors including obtaining local government planning approvals. Information about the rollout schedule is available on the carriers’ websites.
