Moreton Bay Council Planned Burns

ARCHIVED

Created 07/10/2024

Updated 21/01/2025

Controlled hazard reduction burns are planned during low risk periods to  remove ground fuel in susceptible areas in readiness for bushfire season. The planned burn program will be undertaken dependent on weather, and therefore it is difficult to forecast the actual date of burns. Properties adjoining the planned burn locations will be letterbox dropped prior to the burn. Nearby residents who have subscribed to the MoretonAlert system will receive a SMS text and/or email notification the day before a burn proceeds. Additional burns to those listed may be undertaken during the year dependent on the weather and site conditions, and notifications will be issued. For more information about council planned burns in your area, visit Council's Planned Burn Information or contact Moreton Bay Council on (07) 3205 0555.
