These data provide locational and attribute information for places for places nominated to and included in the National Heritage List as determined by the Australian Government managed by the Department of the Environment and Energy. National Heritage List polygons with attribute information describing the place name, class (indigenous, natural, historic), and status. Places subject to confidentiality agreements are included in these data but the location is generalised to the bounding 250k mapsheet.

Places having current assessment and nomination processes involving boundary revisions being undertaken are not available to the public. Spatial data for listed places are available to the public.
