This is a lookup table containing details about the input datasets, which were compiled into the main NVIS. Details include dataset title, scale and creation dates for the original attribute and spatial data.
It is intended to accompany the NVIS spatial key layers, which contain the spatial footprints of the two main themes, viz:
- National Vegetation Information System (NVIS) Version 5.1 - Australia - Key Layer for Present (Extant) Native Vegetation Data
- National Vegetation Information System (NVIS) Version 5.1 - Australia - Key Layer for the Estimated Pre-1750 Native Vegetation Data
Instructions:
- Join DATA_SET_NUMBER in the table to DATA_SET_NUMBER in the respective spatial key layer, above. (Note that field names are all truncated to 10 characters in shapefiles and DBF tables derived from the main NVIS data - e.g. DATA_SET_NUMBER is truncated to DATA_SET_N.)
- (Optionally) use the following layer files for attribute legends in ArcMap:
- nvis5_1_key_scales.lyr for MAP_PUBLICATION_SCALE
- nvis5_1_key_att_sources.lyr for ATTRIBUTE_ORIGIN
- nvis5_1_key_spatial_sources.lyr for SPATIAL_ORIGINYou must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
