Created 20/01/2025

Updated 20/01/2025

The discovery and proving of porphyry and porphyry related copper-gold deposits with contained metal values of about $10 billion has been the success story of the State's metalliferous exploration over the last decade. The North Parkes, Lake Cowal and Cadia Hill deposits are associated with distinctive mantle derived magmatism of Ordovician age (480-440 Ma).
