As a part of a Victorian State Government initiative for Private Forest mapping was established to collect, collate and store forest resource information. The PNF100 layer depicts forest stands interpreted visually from aerial photgraphs and image based mapping. A stand is an area of forest deemed to be homogenous in its species composition, crown cover, crown form, height and distribution for "modified code mapping".
