Resources for Cyclone Anthony and Cyclone Yasi, north Queensland (January-February 2011)

Cyclone Anthony and Cyclone Yasi impacted the North Queensland coast during January and February 2011. Anthony, a category 2 storm crossed near Bowen on the 30th January. Yasi, a large category 5 system crossed the coast around midnight on 2nd February between Mission Beach and Cardwell.

Data summaries from the AIMS weather stations and the FAIMMS sensor network are available for areas affected by both Cyclone Anthony and Cyclone Yasi.

BOM cyclone tracks include three colour zones, depicting the current and forecast extent of gale force (62 km/hr), storm force (89km/hr) and hurricane force (117km/hr) winds. A list of reefs predicted to have been impacted within each zone for Cyclone Yasi is available along with a map of the zones.
