Scalding (soils)

Created 16/10/2024

Updated 16/10/2024

Scalding refers to land, primarily in low rainfall environments, where the surface soil has been eroded to expose sub-surface material that is unsuited to plant growth. Mapping shows the proportion of land affected by scalding, while detailed proportion data are supplied for calculating total areas of affected land (spatial data statistics).
