This record is an overview entry for biological data collected on Soela cruise SO 4/85. This cruise took place in Tasmanian, eastern Bass Strait, eastern Great Australian Bight and southern New South Wales waters during 18-28 July 1985, under the leadership of Ron Thresher and John Gunn. Biological data collected on this cruise include ichthyoplankton samples from established transects around Tasmania and from one short tow off Gabo Island. Large numbers of Blue Grenadier larvae from inshore stations along the west coast of Tasmania. Blue Grenadier eggs from the 100 m station off Sandy Cape. Biological data for key commercial species: Ling, Blue Grenadier, Mirror Dory, King Dory, Gemfish and Ocean Perch. Neuston samples from waters east of Flinders Island north to Eden. Ovarian tissue samples from Spotted Trevalla, Blue Grenadier and a range of incidental species.
