This record is an overview entry for biological data collected on Soela cruise SO 5/84. This cruise took place in east and northwest Tasmanian waters and eastern Bass Strait during 9 October - 5 November 1984, under the leadership of G. Harris and Stephen Blaber. Biological data collected on this cruise include ichthyoplankton data. Demersal and pelagic fish samples, the most significant species caught were Lampanyctodes hectoris, Brama brama, Lepidopus caudatus and Trachurus declivis. Small numbers of blue grenadier. Juvenile fish and large numbers of invertebrate samples. Productivity measurement data from a number of stations. Representatives of all invertebrate taxa were preserved for calorific analyses. Large numbers of larval fish were noted in most samples. 1000 photographs of the bottom, fish and invertebrates.
