Warning NOTE: It has been discovered that the Underway Thermosalinograph data (UWY TSG) collected on voyage SS2/2008 is about 0.05 PSU higher than the CTD surface salinity values (at each station) till station 21 at 03:50 on 18 Feb 2008. Thereafter, the UWY TSG values range from 0.06 ~ 0.08 PSU above the CTD surface values. This higher than usual anomaly continues until the end of voyage SS200803. Bernadette Heaney will process the UWY data for the voyages SS200804 to present first, then review the data for SS200802 and SS200803. This dataset contains the Underway (UWY) data collected on Southern Surveyor voyage SS 03/2008. The voyage took place in the eastern Great Australian Bight (~134°E), and at selected sites on the continental slope on the transit back to Hobart via the west coast of Tasmania, 28th February - 17 March 2008. This dataset has been processed and archived within the CSIRO Marine and Atmospheric Research Data Centre in Hobart. Additional information regarding this dataset may be contained in the voyage plan and voyage summary (as available). The standard Underway (=continuously recorded) dataset from a research voyage includes Navigation (NAV), Sounder, Thermosalinograph (TSG) and Meteorological (MET) data. NAV data includes GPS (Global Positioning System) measurements of latitude, longitude, ship's direction and speed. MET data includes atmospheric temperature, humidity and pressure, wind speed and direction, and incident radiation intensity. Data are recorded at 10 second intervals.
