The Legislative Council (Upper House) ballot paper allows voters to vote above the line for a group or below the line for an individual candidate. For each Upper House Region the initial count of votes shows only the tally of first peferences cast either for a group or for an individual candidate. As each region consists of eleven Lower House Districts the information is broken down to Voting Centres and Vote Types within each District
