Samples from 48 mangrove species and mangal associates from 24 different families from various areas of North Queensland and Northern Territory, Australia, were screened for alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, steroids, triterpenes, tannins, UV absorbing compounds and photosynthetic pigments.
