Mean monthly and mean annual temperature grids. The grids show the temperature values across Australia in the form of a two-dimensional array. The mean data are based on the standard 30-year period 1961-1990. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mean monthly and mean annual rainfall grids.
The grids show the 30-year averages of mean monthly and annual rainfall across Australia. These grids were based on daily rainfall data from the Australian Bureau of metrology Archive data base (ADAM). Approximately up to 6500 sites across the country are analysed on to 0.05X0.05 degree grids with limited quality control. A sophisticated analysis technique described in Jones et al. (2009) is used to interpolate the data on to a regular 2 dimensional grid. The resolution of the data is 0.025 degrees (approximately 2.5km).
