This dataset is monthly data values, per seaframe station, for sea level, barometric pressure, water temperature, and air temperature. For each station, there are 4 files: one per data parameter. Each file contains, for each month of all years, the minimum, maximum, mean, and standard deviation value for that month, as well as the number of good values, and number of gaps, for that month. .

Data is from approximately 1993, from the following 14 tide gauge stations in the South Pacific: Cook Islands (1993+ ), Federated States of Micronesia (Pohnpei) (2001+ ), Fiji,(Viti Levu - Suva) (1992+ ), Fiji (Viti Levu - Lautoka) (1992+ ), Kiribati (Tarawa - Betio) (1993+ ), Marshall Islands (Majuro - Uliga) (1993+ ), Nauru (Aiwo) (1993+ ), New Zealand (Jackson Bay, South Island ) (1996+ ), Papua New Guinea (Manus - Lombrum) (1994+ ), Samoa (Upolu - Apia) (1993+ ), Solomon Islands (Guadalcanal - Honiara) (1994+ ), Tonga (Tongatapu - Nuku'alofa) (1993+ ), Tuvalu (Funafuti - Fongafale) (1993+ ), Vanuatu (Efate - Port Vila) (1993+ ). A summary of each station's position (lat, long, SSBM, ) is available from http://www.bom.gov.au/oceanography/projects/spslcmp/data/data.shtml More station detail (including latitude, longitude, monitoring equipment, the station's BOM Station#, ANTT#, GLOSS ID, etc), are available by clicking the port name, on the above webpage, or by using this URL formula: ( http://www.bom.gov.au/ntc/IDO50000/IDO50000_[ANTT#].pdf ); (the ANTT# is provided in the Keywords section of this metadata record) eg for TUVALU ( http://www.bom.gov.au/ntc/IDO50000/IDO50000_67440.pdf ).

Dates and times, in the data, are given in Universal Time Coordinated (UTC). Sea level values are in metres above Tide Gauge Zero (e.g. 1.205 metres) Missing or erroneous values are set to a value of -9999 SEAFRAME stations measure sea level very accurately, and also record meteorological parameters (such as air and water temperature, pressure and wind observations).
